OUR WORK

What We Do

At Customized Journeys we are committed to offering our clients an authentic cultural experience that sparks curiosity, broadens horizons, and affects new insights that can be carried back home. We specialize in custom-designed, small group adventures for families, groups of friends, clubs, associations, companies, and organizations that meet the unique needs and interests of each group of travelers. Small group sizes – usually only 15 members – and a limited number of trips each year allow Customized Journeys to concentrate on personal service and a commitment to sustainable tourism in relatively fragile parts of the world. With a constant focus on high quality services, knowledgeable guides, and comfortable accommodations, as well as a concern for reasonability in cost, we bring dreams to life!

How We Do It

At Customized Journeys we move beyond big tourism, flag-waving tour guides, and surface-level glimpses of major sights. We craft a more intimate form of tourism that allows travelers to get off-the-beaten-path, get an inside look at varied ways of life, and access local knowledge. On our journeys, we get to know the local wonders, the best-kept-secret hideaways, behind-the-scenes creative processes (for wine, food, and art), and the people of the towns we explore. To put it simply, we create adventures that have depth . . . the kind of depth that enables travelers to become participants in the cultures they experience.

Like an old friend showing you around their home-town, we take special enjoyment in introducing our clients to the places we most hold dear – our privately owned Palazzo Ranghiasci in Gubbio, in which we hold special events, the trails we grew up hiking, and the restaurants and wineries that fill our daydreams. Come with us to learn about the wonderful secret spots that only the “insiders” know.
