Today we will start early in the morning to prepare for the Grand Ball Tiepolo. If you don’t have your own historic costume, we can help you pick out and rent an unforgettable one. Today we will say goodbye to Venice and head to the spa town of Montecatini. On the way, we will stop in sophisticated city of Bologna, the home of the western world’s oldest university and a long-time European capital of culture. You will marvel at the awesome Piazza Maggiore and the city’s unique medieval towers, the symbols of Bologna. Afterwards, we will arrive at our spa hotel and enjoy dinner at a nearby local restaurant. Sleep in Montecatini.

Today will make our way to Viareggio for the day where a group of wealthy young locals gathered in 1873 at the Caffe’ Casino to devise a Carnival festival of grand floats. You will witness today one of the most renowned Carnival celebrations in both Italy and Europe. Sleep in Montecatini.

Today we will visit the quaint walled city of Lucca. The city’s main piazza, incredible Duomo and lovely shops make it an ideal stop. Learn about the city’s many legends and its remarkable Medieval past. After lunch, we will then make our way to Pisa for a city tour and a visit to its spectacular Piazza dei Miracoli. Today we visit San Gimignano, the famous city of towers. In the 14th-century, San Gimignano had 70 towers, and although only a few still remain, the town center is well preserved. This medieval town is especially beautiful as we'll see sitting in the piazza, enjoying a glass of local Vernaccia wine or some of San Gimignano's acclaimed gelato. This afternoon you will find yourself in a local farm house to enjoy a wine tasting and learn how to cook some delicious Tuscan dishes of this region. Sleep in Montecatini
