You will have time this morning to continue exploring Venice on your own. Today we will take in the great wonders of Florence. Florence is blessed with world-famous art, culture, history, and architecture -- all of which can be enjoyed by simply roaming its streets and public places. Enjoy a gelato as you stroll the famous Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River. Our local guide will also give us an unforgettable introduction to this essential city. Overnight in Tuscan countryside.

Today we will visit the quaint walled city of Lucca. We will learn of the city’s many legends and medieval past. The city is still surrounded by impressive stone walls constructed in the 1500’s. Today we will transfer to Rome with stops along the way. We will visit the beautiful crumbling city of Civita Bagnoregio. We will also visit the Sacro Bosco, often called the Park of Monsters. This 16th century garden is filled with sculptures that will delight both adults and children. You will have time on your own in Rome this afternoon to begin exploring. Overnight in Rome.

Once called Caput Mundi (capital of the world), Rome has been inhabited for at least 10,000 years and became the center of the civilized world after the fall of ancient Greece. Rome has never changed – it has only grown over itself a thousand times. Our fun and informative guide, who will show you some of the city’s greatest attractions including the Colosseum. After, we will visit a gladiator school where the children (and adults) can “train” as a gladiator. Overnight in Rome.

Today we will make our way to Southern Italy starting with a visit to Pompeii. The ancient Roman settlement that was destroyed in A.D. 79 by the explosion of Mt. Vesuvius and remained covered in thick protective ash until its excavation began at the end of the 1700s. After the visit, you will be transferred to your hotel just outside Sorrento where you will spend the next two nights. Overnight near Sorrento.

This morning we will enjoy a boat ride to the fabled island of Capri. While on Capri we will drive up the unforgettable winding road to Anacapri, a picturesque town of 5,000 that somehow clings to the mountainside. Those wanting to reach the very top of the island can take a fun chairlift to Capri’s highest point, Monte Solaro - 1,926 feet above sea level. Overnight near Sorrento.

We will enjoy our last day together with a walking tour along the greatest avenues of Naples with an experienced and entertaining local guide. The grandiosity of this city’s countless royal buildings and grand churches is a great surprise to the first-time visitor. We will also visit the Archelogical Museum of Naples where you will see all the most important discoveries from Pompeii. Overnight in Naples.
