England Spring Trip (Family-Friendly) – March 2023

Join us for this trip to England this spring (family-friendly). From London to Cambridge to Oxford and more, there is something for everyone on this trip. In addition to seeing the highlights of England, we have organized this trip to consider the needs of travelers of all ages, offering an enjoyable pace and set of activities that engage children and adults alike, and a good balance between planned events and free exploration. The weather this time of year may be a little wet, but it will allow us to fully explore these areas without the crowds. Embark on a truly exciting, enjoyable, and educational immersion for the whole family!

About our trip guide: Louise Maciejewski
Born in Great Britain, Louise grew up in Oxford, England. She attended St. Clare’s Hall in Oxford, and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in archaeology from the Institute of Archaeology London, England. Having travelled widely throughout Europe, she settled in Tuscany where she runs an Organic Olive farm. She also works as a certified tour guide all over Europe. She is excited to share her love of England with you.

DAY 0 - Friday, March 17

Fly from the USA to London, England.

DAY 1 - Saturday, March 18: Arrival

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in central London. You will have time to check-in and relax before meeting the group for a welcome talk this evening. A casual walking tour of the nearby area is available for those arriving earlier in the day. Overnight in London.

DAY 2 - Sunday, March 19: London

Today we will start the morning by enjoying the classic pageantry of the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace. A boat ride down the Thames will bring us to the Tower of London. We will finish the day with an optional visit to the Westminster Abbey for Sunday evening song service. Sleep in London.

DAY 3 - Monday, March 20: London

We will continue our exploration of London today with a visit to the British Museum and London Eye. Our tour leader, a former employee of the British Museum, will give a unique insider’s view of the museums most famous and interesting artifacts. Later we will enjoy a ride on the London Eye where you will be able to see all of London and even as far as Windsor Palace. You will have this afternoon on your own to continue exploring. Sleep in London.

DAY 4 - Tuesday, March 21: Canterbury

Today we will leave London to start our exploration of the rest of England. We will start with a visit to the quaint medieval city of Canterbury. We will visit its storied cathedral and learn some of its more interesting (and sometimes gruesome) past. Afterwards we will make our way to city of Cambridge with its famous namesake University, out base for the next two nights. Overnight in Cambridge.

DAY 5 - Wednesday, March 22: Cambridge

Today we will get a good look at the charming University town of Cambridge. We will visit the areas near to the University, the beautiful botanic gardens and enjoy strolling along the lovely streets and greenways of this small city. Sleep in Cambridge.

DAY 6 - Thursday, March 23: Oxford

Today we will move to Oxford to visit its wonderful museums, storied libraries, and famous colleges. Fans of Harry Potter will recognize some of filming locations set at the University and children and adults alike will be fascinated by the collections at the Pitt Rivers Museum. Sleep in Oxford.

DAY 7 - Friday, March 24: Bath & Avebury Henge

Today we will visit the breathtaking city of Bath (a UNESCO world heritage site), where we will learn about its ancient past. The Roman Baths, about 2,100 years old, are amongst the most famous and important Roman remains north of the Alps and mark the beginning of Bath's history as a spa town. We’ll then admire the city’s many beautiful buildings before we head to Avebury, a lesser know henge and standing stone circle where we will be able to explore freely and up close. Sleep in Oxford.

DAY 8 - Saturday, March 25: The Cotswolds

Today we will explore the Cotswolds area with its charming and picturesque villages. We will start the day with a visit to the magnificent Blenheim Palace and Gardens., followed by some charming and picturesque villages where we will enjoy a festive farewell lunch at a local pub. Sleep in Oxford.

DAY 10 - Sunday, March 26: Departure

Today you will be transferred to the airport in London for your return flight to the US.
