This morning, we’ll explore the picturesque villages made famous by The Godfather films. Today we travel south along Sicily’s eastern coast. En route to our countryside resort near Noto, we’ll stop in Siracusa for a guided tour of the island of Ortigia—home to ancient temples, Baroque piazzas, and lively markets. This morning we head into Noto, a Baroque masterpiece and UNESCO World Heritage Site. A guided walking tour will bring the city’s ornate facades and grand history to life. This morning we begin our day in the countryside with a visit to a working farm, where you’ll watch fresh ricotta being made over a wood fire in traditional wooden barrels. Enjoy a warm, rustic lunch onsite that showcases the farm’s rich dairy products—including what may be the best cannoli you’ve ever tasted. In the afternoon, we continue to Modica, a Baroque town known for its unique chocolate-making tradition. There, you’ll take part in a hands-on chocolate experience and learn how Modica’s cold-processing technique preserves texture and flavor.
