From the charming walled town of Lucca and the dramatic coastline of the Cinque Terre to the rolling vineyards of Montepulciano and the Renaissance splendor of Florence, this thoughtfully crafted journey blends cultural discovery with culinary delights. Bob and Vincenzo will share their deep ties to Italy including its language, traditions, and flavors. Whether you’re strolling through medieval villages, soaking in natural hot springs, or toasting with local wines at a countryside estate, this trip promises to be a memorable immersion into the best of Tuscany—guided by hosts who live and breathe its spirit.

Fly from US to Pisa
Upon arrival at Pisa airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your charming hotel in or near the historic city of Lucca. Take some time to rest and recover from your travel before meeting the group this evening for a special welcome dinner, where you’ll savor traditional Lucchese cuisine and get to know your fellow travelers. . Today begins with a guided walking tour of Lucca, a beautifully preserved medieval town famous for its intact Renaissance-era walls, charming piazzas and cobblestone lanes. Highlights will include the San Michele in Foro, the Duomo di San Martino and perhaps a walk atop the city walls. The afternoon is yours to continue exploring at your own pace. Today’s excursion takes you to the iconic Cinqueterre, a string of colorful seaside villages perched dramatically along the Ligurian coast. Before arriving, you’ll stop at the picturesque port town of Portovenere, a UNESCO world heritage site for a delicious lunch of Ligurian specialties. Then continue with a scenic boat ride (weather permitting) along the Cinque Terre coast, offering unforgettable views of the cliffside villages. Return to Lucca in the late afternoon. After checking out this morning, you will travel south through beautiful landscapes into the heart of Tuscany. En route you will visit the enchanting medieval village of Monteriggioni, encircled by its 13th Century walls and rich in charm and history. Enjoy a tasting of wines produced nearby, and then a group lunch featuring local specialties, before continuing to your thermal spa resort in the Tuscan countryside. Today is dedicated to the Val d’Orcia, one of Tuscany’s most scenic and flavorful areas. Visit Montepulicano, a hilltop renowned for its Vino Nobile wines, followed by Pienza, celebrated for its Renaissance architecture and pecorino cheese. Today you will travel to the iconic Tuscan city of Siena for a guided walking tour. Discover the fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, home of the Palio horse race, the magnificent duomo, and the historic Palazzo Comunale. Learn about Siena’s artistic heritage and medieval rivalries. Today you will journey into the lesser-known but equally enchanting corners of Tuscany. Visit the village of Loro Ciuffenna, perched over a rushing river and full of authentic charm. Explore the Pieve di Gropina, one of the oldest Romanesque churches in Tuscany, and stop at the peaceful Monastery of Vallombrosa, surrounded by forested hills. This morning, the group will head into Florence, the capital of the Renaissance. A local expert guide will lead you through its iconic sites, including the Duomo and the Accademia Gallery (home of Michelangelo’s David). On your final full day, the group will visit Castello di Nipozzano, a historic Frescobaldi estate nestled among vineyards in the Chianti Rufina hills. Today after breakfast, a group transfer to the Florence airport will be provided. For those continuing by train or exploring further, transfers to the Florence center or train station can be arranged for an additional fee.
