The morning is yours to discover Florence. Visit museums and churches, shop, or just sit in a café near the Ponte Vecchio and people-watch in one of the world ' s finest cities. At 12 pm we will meet with the rest of the group and head to Panzano in Chianti, where you will enjoy a lunch at Dario Cecchini's meat restaurant. You will then start your exploration of Italian wines with a visit to a Chianti Classico wine estate. At the end of the day you will reach your hotel, where you will stay for the next 4 nights. Today you will drive along the shores of Lake Trasimeno to an olive oil mill that we believe produces the best olive oil in Italy. You will sample several grades of olive oil and learn how to recognize the best quality. You will then explore the gorgeous Tuscan hill town of Cortona, once an important center of Etruscan civilization, with a great local guide. You will also have time to shop, stroll and discover more of this beautiful city centre at your own pace under the Tuscan sun (here is where the movie and the book were set). Sleep near Siena

This morning you will drive to a small farmhouse where you will enjoy a hands-on cooking class in a super-friendly environment. You will sample some of the fresh products from the farm, including honey, olive oil and wine, and enjoy a great lunch. Today you will head off to one of Tuscany's grand jewels: the city of Siena. You will learn from a local about the famous Palio, the horse race all Sienese are crazy about, and you will visit several of Siena's amazing architectural masterpieces such as the grand Cathedral and the Campo square. You will have time on your own to soak in the atmosphere of this unforgettable town, people watching, eating ice-cream and sipping wine at one of the many local bars before heading back to the castle to enjoy a lovely evening! This morning you will hit the road to reach one of the prettiest towns in all of Central Italy - the hilltown of Orvieto. Built on a high plateau of tufa rock, this historic town will surely be a cultural highlight of your trip. Here you will behold the very frescoes that inspired Michelangelo to paint his “Last Judgement” in the Sistine Chapel. You will also visit a pastry shop that rests above a secret, mile-long Etruscan tunnel. Maurizio, the shop's owner and an early proponent of the Slow Food Movement, will teach you a few Umbrian cooking secrets after showing you the private tunnels his father has been renovating for over 20 years. This morning you will drive south and reach the grandiose Royal Palace of Caserta, just a short drive from Naples. One of the largest buildings erected in Europe during the 1700s, and displaying incredibly beautiful gardens, it is today a UNESCO site and a sight not to be missed. You will then reach your hotel in centrally located Sorrento. Sleep in Sorrento

During this morning’s cruise to Capri you will enjoy excellent views of the Sorrentine Peninsula and the striking “teeth” of Capri, the Faraglioni cliffs. Enjoy the highlights of Capri including the Phoenician Steps -- 800 ancient stairs to a romantic viewpoint, the Belvedere delle Noci -- the island’s limestone rock formations and the Church of San Michele – location of the majolica tiles of Adam and Eve. If you just prefer to relax you can stay back at your lovely hotel and spend some time shopping and strolling in Sorrento. Sleep in Sorrento

Today you will drive down the amazing Amalfi coast and discover some of its most beautiful views and little villages. Amalfi will blow you away with its grand cathedral and amazing views. In Ravello you will be able to take in one of the world’s most talked about views from the gardens of Villa Cimbrone. You will have time to enjoy a glass of Ravello’s DOC wine here or maybe some of the area’s world-famous Limoncello before heading down to picturesque Positano. Multicoloured homes overlooking the sea, and a beautiful beach with the best gelato ever, will make your visit memorable. Sleep in Sorrento

Any visit to Southern Italy would not be complete without a stop at Mt. Vesuvius.
