Your driver will bring you to Lake Orta, one of the smallest lakes of Northern Italy, where you will meet your local guide and take a short ferry ride. Considered the most romantic and mysterious of all Italian lakes, Lake Orta hosts a beautiful village, Orta San Giulio, built on the slopes of a sacred mountain. You may not want to leave because as the light changes constantly, you have the feeling you’re living in fairy tale. You will have time to explore its narrow streets and its nostalgic dock before heading to Stresa on Lake Maggiore this evening. Overnight in Stresa

Today, you will enjoy another short ferry ride to Isola Bella, an island directly opposite Stresa, and for many centuries a destination for Europe's aristocrats. When the noble Borromeo family took possession of the area in the 16th and 17th centuries, they summoned the best architects, artists and gardeners to completely transform Isola Bella and the adjacent island, Isola Madre, by constructing opulent palaces and the most beautiful parks in Italy. You will enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Borromeo palace and have time on our own for lunch and exploration of the little village. Afterwards, you can return to Stresa to enjoy its delightful plazas and beautiful lakeside promenade. Overnight in Stresa

Today, your driver will bring you to Locarno, in Switzerland for a day trip. Located on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore, Locarno is the third major city in the canton of Ticino after Lugano and Bellinzona, and it is worldly famous for hosting the Locarno International Film Festival. We’ll take a guided tour in downtown Locarno and learn about the cultural differences between this Swiss region and its neighbor, Italy. If there is time, we’ll also visit the Castello Visconteo, that served as the seat of the Visconti Dukes of Milan from 1513 to 1798. The castle is now a museum that houses artefacts from the Late Bronze Ages to the High Middle Ages. You will return to your hotel in the late afternoon where you can enjoy the lake views on your last evening. Overnight on Stresa

Today, you will be transferred to Milano Malpensa airport where you can catch a return flight to the US. You can schedule for your flight for anytime today, but please keep in mind the drive to the airport will take about an hour.
