If our visit coincides with market day, you'll experience one of Provence's finest open-air markets, where local artisans and producers fill the streets with colorful displays of fresh produce, cheeses, lavender, antiques, and regional specialties.
From there, we'll continue through the scenic Luberon countryside to the peaceful Abbaye de Sénanque, a beautifully preserved 12th-century Cistercian abbey nestled among rolling hills and, in season, fragrant lavender fields.
We'll then make our way to the spectacular hilltop village of Roussillon, where we'll enjoy lunch in or near town featuring the fresh flavors of Provence. This morning we depart Provence for the untamed beauty of the Camargue.
En route we'll visit Les Baux-de-Provence, spectacularly perched atop a rocky limestone ridge overlooking olive groves, vineyards, and the Alpilles Mountains. Frequently listed among France's most beautiful villages, its dramatic setting and medieval ruins provide unforgettable views.
Our journey then continues into the unique landscapes of the Camargue, a vast protected delta where salt marshes, lagoons, rice fields, and open grasslands create one of Europe's richest natural environments. Here, white Camargue horses roam freely alongside black bulls and thousands of flamingos.
